Investigation on Characteristics of Injurious Epidemiology of Students from Middle and Primary Schools in Shenzhen

ObjectiveIn order to find out the epidemic characteristics and economical and social burden of students of middle and primary schools.MethodsAcluster sampling study on the condition was conducted among 2 181 students from six middle and primary schools in two districts of Shenzhen.ResultsThe over all incidence of injuries was 15.59% with shcoolboys higher than schoolgirls(P<0.01)and middle school higher than primary school(P<0.01).There was a trend that the incidence of injuries increased with age.The high-incidence age was middle school period.Falling,accidents,collision wounds were the first three injures.The mainly causes of injuries were motion,riding and playing.The opportunities that occurred injury out schools and in schools were more than those at home.ConclusionIt was very important to carry out synthetical intervention measures to decrease the rate of injury among students of middle and primary schools.
