Multistate Markov Model for Epidemiological Study on Chronic Diseases

  • Objective To accelerate the generalization and application of multistate Markov model during the epidemiological study on chronic diseases. Methods First introducing the basic principle of multistate Markov model, and then appling it to study factors influencing the various stages of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Results The results gained by applying multistate Markov model to study factors influencing the various stages of type 2 diabetes mellitus were satisfied. Conclusion Multistate Markov model was an available tool probing into factors influencing the various stages of chronic diseases, and had wide prospect during the epidemiological study on chronic diseases.
