Test of stability and impurity and acute toxicity of Ebselen

  Objective   To understand the stability and the impurity of the synthesized Ebselen(Ebs)and the acute toxicity.

  Methods   The content preserved in the 2~8℃ and temperature of room in the 0~4 years of Ebs was measured by high performace liguid chromatography(HPLC).Nitric nitrit(NO₂-N)and phenylamine.were detected with chromatometry and the acute toxicity test was done.Adult mice were lavaged 3 times per 24 hours and the mortality rate was observed.

  Results   The stability of Ebs could be kept for 3 years in the 2~8℃.The content of NO₂-N and phenylamine were 4.83μg/kg and 1183 mg/kg respectively.The median lethal dose(LD₅₀)of the mice who was lavaged 3 times was 2 355.05 mg/kg.

  Conclusion   The quality of Ebs is reliable and stable.The security is high and it can be used for exploitation and study.
