Association between angiotension-converting enzyme gene polymorphism and insulin resistance in Mongolian hypertensives

  •   Objective   To explore the association between angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)gene Ⅰ/D polymorphism and insulin resistance and blood lipid in Mongolian hypertensives.
Methods   115 Mongolian hypertensives and 114 Mongolian normotensives were selected to test blood lipid, blood glucose and insulin; analyzing examining the insertion/deletion polymorphism of ACE gene in hypertensives and normotensives.
Results   These was no significant difference to be found between ACE gene Ⅰ/D polymorphism and insulin resistance and blood lipid in Mongolian hypertensives and normotensives(P > 0.05).
Conclusion   The ACE gene polymorphism was not related to insulin resistance and blood lipid in Mongolian hypertensives.
