Lipid peroxidation effects of trichloroethylene on occupationally exposed wokers

  •   Objective   To evaluate the lipid peroxidation effects of trichloroethylene(TCE)on occupationally exposed individuals.
Methods   207 pieces of shif-tending urine and blood from occupationaly exposed workers were collected. To analyse the level of urine Trichloroactic acid(TCA)and lipid peroxidation in peripheral blood such as the activity or concentr ation of calalase(CAT)superoxide dismutase(SOD)glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX)and malondialdehyde(MDA)in various dosed groups.
Results   The activity of erythrocyte CAT, total serum SOD and GSH-PX or the concetration of serum MDA significantly increased compared with the controls.CAT, total SOD was assumed to have parbaolical correlation with the exposure time, CAT, total SOD and GSH-PX had the same corelation with urine TCA concentration.MDA had significant linear correlation with the exposure time or urine TCA concentration.
Conclusion   TCE can stimulate lipid peroxisome proliferation. The lipid peroxidation level of the peripherl blood may be one of the early biomarkers of TCE exposure.CAT may be applied as one of the early and secsitive bio-effect indexs.
