Effect and intervention of passive smoking on learning and memory ability of mice offspring

  •   Objective   To investigate the effect of passive smoking on the learning and memory ability of mice offspring, and also to discuss the improvement effect of different antioxidants on cigarette smoking hazard.
Methods   Model of passive smoking of created and control, smoking and antioxidant intervention groups were set up.Different results between smoking and antioxidant intervention groups and the improvement effect to mice offspring were estimated.
Results   (1) The swimming score of mice offspring of intervention groups heightened with increasing study time, whereas smoking group had a slowest score promotion.(2)The latency of smoking group was obvious higher than that of control on 1 d, 4 d, 8 d and 12 d of the water maze latency test.(3)The latency of VE intervention group was obvious lower than that of smoking group on 12 d.(4)Compared with control group, the swimming error numbers of smoking group had an increasing tendency.
Conclusion   Passive smoking in pregant term has negative influence on learning and memory ability to offspring. It has striking effect through antioxidant intervention.
