Study on interaction between occupational stress and risky factors of hypertension

  •   Objective   To explore the interacrion between the occupational stress and the risky factors of hypertension in a group of people with different occupations.
      Methods   A cross-sectional study was carried out among 964 males with at least 3 years work experience in different occupations, out of whom 185 suffered from hypertension.All the data were analysed with stratify analysis and the interaction items were added to the multiple variables logistic regression model.
      Results   T he stratify analysis showed that there were potential interaction between the occupational stress and drinking, history of hyperlipemia, family history of hypertension, age, and body mass index(BMI); interaction items were added to the multiple variables logistic regression midel also indicated that the occupational stress and the family history of hypertension interacted on each other.
      Conclusion   Hypertension in the occupational group is caused by multiple influential factors.There is interaction between the occupational stress and family history of hypertension.
