Appraisal of AIDS/STD health education effect among middle school students

  •   Objective   To kno wthe middle-students' prevention knowledge and character istic of related behavior study of STD/STD, and to provide the basis for drawing up a plan of health eduction for the middle school students.
      Methods   By using the group sampling, STDS/AIDS knowledge lecture was carried in the middle-school students, and the propaganda materials and other education forms and the self-made investigation papers were given before and after the education.
      Results   About 58.99% of the students had received the education.After the health education, minddle-school students'knowledge of STD/AIDS had an obvious enhancement, and they were willing to understand AIDS prevention knowledge and to help AIDS patients.The number of the students increased from 45.88%(before the intervention)to 67.79%(after the intervention)(u=32.29, P < 0.01).69.75% students could accept to work and study together with the HIV infected or the AIDS patients.After the intervention, there were 72.03% students who would streng then the confidence to fight against AIDS after being infected the HIV, obviously it was higher than 47.17%(before the health education)(χ2=387.68, P < 0.01).
      Conclusion   Good effect is received on launching STD/AIDS health education among the middle-school students.It's a practical and feasible method in STD/AIDS health education, which is the combination of lectures and propaganda materials.
