Relationship between Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase polymorphism and cervical cancer susceptibility

  •   Objective   To explore the Municipal relationship between the MTHFR polymorphism and cervical cancer susceptibility.
Methods   The hospital-based case-control study was carried out, the risk factors of 111 cases with cervical cancer by pathological diagnosis and 111 patients with hysterteromyoma were investigated, MTHFR C677 Tpolymorphism was analyzed by PCR-RL FP.Logistic regress was used to perform the risk factors analysis.
Results   The variated genotype of M THFR increase the risk of cervical cancer, adjusted odds ratio computed for T/T versus C/C was 2.91(95%CI=1.09~7.75), adjusted odds ratio computed for TT/non-T/T was 2.58(95%CI=1.22~5.45).
Conclusion   The mutant type homozygote of MTHFR C677T was a risk factor of cervical cancer. The risk of cervical cancer increased in women who had MTFHR677TT gene type.
