Investigation on indoor air pollution of ornamental materials markets

ObjectiveTo understand the indoor air pollution condition in decorating materials markets,and to offer the corr esponding prev entive measures.MethodsTo survey 30 sale stores and detect the concentration of formaldehyde and volatility organic compounds(VOCs)in their indoor air.ResultsIn sales stores with different decor ating material,the concentration of for maldehyde and VOCs were higher than that of outdoo rair(P<0.05),and the tallest values were 70 times and 20 times more than the value of outdoor air,respectively.The rates above standard of for maldehyde and VOCs in unventilated condition were higher than in ventilated condition(P<0.05),especially formalcehyde differ particularly.The rate above standard of the area below 50 m² was higher than above 50 m² (P<0.05).ConclusionThe indoor air of the or namental materials markets are badly polluted by formaldehyde and VOCs,and the degree of pollution is correlated to the ornamental material category,the area and ventilation of sale stores.
