Quality of life in children with epilepsy and effect of familial intervention

ObjectiveTo study the quality of life,influencing factors and the effects of familial intervention to children with epilepsy.Methods506 children aged 4～18 years old were taken as objects.The questionnaire of Quality of Life in Childhood Epilepsy and Hospital Anxiety and Depression were used.ResultsCompared with healthy contrast,the epileptic children had significant difference in many aspects of QOL.Parental anxiety,the number of AEDs,onset age,seizuring frequency and duration were significantly associated with quality of life of children(P<0.05).There was not significant difference in the results of quality of life between before and after familial intervention.ConclusionThere are many influencing factors of quality of life,and familial factor is an important factor.So familial intervention is very important.
