Effect of different type of stress on contents of iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium in whole blood of mice

  • ObjectiveTo explore metabolism changes principles of iron,zinc,calcium,magnesium under different type of stress.MethodsTwo kinds of stressed mice models(restraint stress and heat stress)were established;the normal control group and the starvation control group were prepared in the same time.The contents of iron,zinc,calcium,magnesium in whole blood were determined by flame atomic absorption spectro metry.ResultsThere were not significant differences between the normal and the starvation control group in the contents of iron and zinc(P>0.05);the contents of iron and zinc of the restraint stress group were all lower than the control group(P<0.01)and there were not significant differences between the heat stress group and the control group(P>0.05);There was correlation between the content of iron and zinc in the restr aint stress group(P<0.01),then there were not correlations between the contents of iron and zinc in the other groups(P>0.05).The calcium content of the starvation control group was higher than the normal control group(P<0.01).The magnesium content of the starvation control group was lower than the normal control group(P<0.01).ConclusionThe contents of iron and zinc in the whole blood decreased under the restraint stress,the injury mechanisms from the restraint stress and the heat stress may be different.
