Abstract
Objective To explore the method of establishing obesity prone(OP)rats and obesity resistant(OR)rats induced by high-fat diet. Methods Male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were divided into OR rats and OP rats after fed with high fat diet for 8 weeks. After the rats were sacrificed, body fat content was measured and serum was collected to measure blood sugar and serum lipids. Results Perirenal fat, inguinal fat, omental fat and body fat content as well as the level of blood sugar and triglyceride(TG)were significantly higher in OP rats than that in OR rats, while the level of high density lipoprotein(HDL)were significantly lower in OP rats than that in OR rats. Conclusion It is reliable and successful to establish the rats' model of obesity and obesity resistance.
