Study on management model for fluid pregnant women in Beijing

Objective To assess the effcacy of the WHO model in reducing maternal and prenatal complication,and to provide a basis to the government for constituting measure.Methods In 5 hospitals o f grade B at Beijing suburb,quantitative survey was conducted in 1 321 fluid pregnant women from Jan.to Dec.in 2004.331 lying-in women were chosen as inter-vertio n group,whose gravid examination were no rmal,and their ANC visits was 4 times,331 lying-in women were chosen as comparison group,whose ANC visits was 8 times or more.Results The follow ing variables such as maternal occupation,maternal and husband education,monthly income,living time in Beijing,baby numbers associated with antenatal care.There was no statistical difference among varied number of ANC visits when the results were pooled for mater nal complications,new born weight and fetal distress(P>0.05).Conclusion Standard ANC model is currently not well completed in immigrant pregnant women.A more practical and effective ANC model for immigrant pregnant needs to be explored.
