Analysis on subtype of epidemic HIV-1 strains in Shanxi province

Objective To study HIV-1 gene sequence,subtype distribution and origin of vir uses from HIV/AIDS in Shaanxi province,analyze epidemic situation and trend,provide valuable information for the AIDS prevention and control.Methods Analy zing HIV-1 infected individual confirmed by ourlab with general epidemiology.Collecting EDTA anticoagulant whole blood 5~10 ml from HIV-1 infected patients,then got PBMC cell.Using nested PCR amplified specifically HIV-1 env C2-V3 region from the DNA extr action.Software GCG finished the sequence and subtype analysis of the sequences of the PCR products.Results 34 DNA fragments of HIV-1 envgene were amplified by nested PCR from anti-HIV-1 positive samples.4 subty pes were identified circulating in Shanxi:HIV-1 B',C,CRF01-AE and CRF-BC.28 of 34 belonged to subtype B.(82.35%),mainly relative with pasted paid blood donors.4 samples belonged to CRF-BC (11177%),coming from IDU people.Conclusion Subtype HIV-1B' is main epidemic strain in Shanxi province,mainly relatived with past paid blood donor.The subtype HIV-1CRF-BC combination strain is secondly,relative with injected druguser,should be done comprehensive action for IDU people,to control the HIV prevalence among them.
