Investigation on HAART of HIV infection and sexual behaviors

  • Objective To prevent the prevalence of drug resistance viruses, drug resistance muations of HIV-1 and curative effect after taking HAART among HIV-1 infected individuals in Henan province were analyzed. Methods Patients.information about demology, treatment, compliance and condom were acquired from questionnaires, amplified HIV-1 pol gene by RT-PCR and nes-tPCR,sequenced reverse trascraptase(RT)and protease regions and compared with sequence in Stanford HIV drug resistance sequence database. Results The education level of patients and the income investigated was lower; The viral load in treated patients was obviously lower than that in untreated patients(P<0.01);Lower frequency in condom use (23.l%);frequency of patients who followed doctors was lower(72.2%);six drug resistance mutations were found in six treated patients, and one drugresistance mutations were found in untreated patients. Conclusion The curative effect was no-table in early period of HAART,The frequency of drug mutation was lower, but lower condom use and disobedience of taking drug would make drug mutations occur and spread. To prevent the prev alence of drug resistance viruses, monitoring the drug taking and generalizing the condom were necessary.
