Study on auditory event-related potential of developmental coordination disorder

  • ObjectiveTo investigate the auditory event-related potential P300 of developmental coordination disorder (DCD),and to analyze its mechanism from electophysiological level so as to provide guidance for etiological study.Methods16 DCD children from two primary school were screened with the diag nostic standard of American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(4th ed)and developmental coordination disorder questionnaire, and the control group children were selected according to the principle of 1:1 matching.Covariate ANOVA were performed to study the latency and amplitude of P300 among different group, and partial correlate analysis to study the relationship between the subjects.movement performance and their latency and amplitude of P300.ResultsThere were no difference in P300 latency between the DCD and control group(P>0.05),but there were difference in P300 amplitude between them(P<0.01).Furthermore there were highly correlation between children's movement performance and the P300 amplitude(r=-0.906,P<0.01).ConclusionAge and intelligence influenced the P300 as important facors, the abnormal P300 amplitude of DCD children demonstrated their motor control deficits.
