Serum antioxidase and vitamin E of patients with Alzheimer disease

  • Objective To compare the blood serum contents o f superox ide dismutase, glutathione perox idase, ceruloplasmin, catalase, malonaldehyde, vitamin E between Alzheimet disease patients and the well-beings,as well as its significance. Methods Using case-control research,to collect 64 definite Alzheimer disease patients from mental health center of ShanDong and 45 well-beings from community. To analyze the blood serum contents of ant ioxidase and vitamin E.Results The vigor of superox ide dismutase(60.25±6.59)U/ml,glutathione peroxidase(149.60±27.56)unit of enzyme activitv,catalase(1.64±0.80)U/ml and the content of vitamin E(5.74±1.27)Ug/ml were obviously low in Alzheimer disease patients; however, the vigor of ceruloplasmin(49.31±5.67)U/L and the content of malonaldehyde(6.54±0.81)nmol/ml were obviously high. There were statistical significance(P<0.01).Conclusion The results of SOD,GSH-PX,CP,CAT,MDA and vitamin E have statistical discrepancy by comparing Alzheimet disease patients and the well-beings,being momentous indexes of pr ecaution and control AD.
