Abstract
ObjectiveTo compare the distribution of hypertensive sub-type among Korean and Han nationality in countryside community of Yanbian area.MethodsA total of 3011 subjects aged 30-70 years were finally selected,and the age and ethnic distribution of hypertensive sub-type analyzed.ResultsThe crude rate of hypertension of Korean nationality was 46.5%,while that of Han nationality was 34.0%,and the age-adjusted prevalence was 37.2% and 31.4%,respectively.The crude and the age-adjusted prevalence of hypertension in Korean were significantly higher than those in Han.For Korean population,the prevalence rate of isohted systolic hypertension(ISH),isolated diastolic hypertension(IDH)and combined systolic/diastolic hypertension(SDH)were 5.7%,14.3% and 26.4%,respectively,and those among Han population were 5.0%,11.4% and 17.6%,respectively,and SDH was more frequent in the area.ISH and SDH were progressively higher and the IDH progressively lower with the increase of age.ConclusionThe distribution of hypertension and its sub-type among Korean and Han nationality were significant different,and the proportion of ISH,IDH and SDH had significant ethnic differences.ISH and SDH were progressively higher and the IDH progressively lower with the increases of age,and the SDH Was more frequent in the area.
