Investigation on the awareness and demands of AIDS knowledge among university students

Objective To find out the awareness and demands about AIDS know ledge among university students in Jiangsu province.Methods We chose 5 universities of Jiangsu province.The univ ersity students were cluster sampled and in vestigated by questionnaire.Results the rate of awareness about AIDS in boys was hig her than that in girls(P<0.05),the rate of the lower class students was higher than that of the senior ones(P<0.05),the rate of the students majoring in medicine was higher than that of the ones majoring in other subjects(P<0.05),the rate of the students majoring in art was lower than that of the ones majoring in other subjects(P<0.05).86.8% of the students thought that in daily life the way getting the common knowledge about AIDS commonly insufficient or quite insufficient.92.1% of the students wished to know the relevant knowledge about AIDS.Conclusion For different class students,the rate of awareness about AIDS is different accordingly.It's necessary to enhance the AIDS know ledge education in the students basing on the present situation end make them have right faith and attitude for AIDS preventing.
