Evaluation of radiation level and dose of 222Rn among exposed population

  • Objective To realize the concentr ations of 222Rn and effective dose to population in Guangzhou.Methods 222Rn concentrations were obtained by using Rn-Tn solid state nuclear track detectors developed by The National Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety,Chinese Centre for Disease Control.The annual effective dose from the decay of 222Rn was calculated.Results The average indoor concentration of 222Rn is(47.3±23.4)Bq/m3,The aver age outdoor concentration of 222Rn was(20.5±8.7)Bq/m3.The total annual effective dose from the decay of 222Rn was 1.322 mSv/a.Conclusion The concentrations of 222Rn in Guangzhou is at natural backgr ound level.
