Evaluation of radiation level and dose of 222Rn among exposed population

Objective To realize the concentr ations of ²²²Rn and effective dose to population in Guangzhou.Methods ²²²Rn concentrations were obtained by using Rn-Tn solid state nuclear track detectors developed by The National Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety,Chinese Centre for Disease Control.The annual effective dose from the decay of ²²²Rn was calculated.Results The average indoor concentration of ²²²Rn is(47.3±23.4)Bq/m³,The aver age outdoor concentration of ²²²Rn was(20.5±8.7)Bq/m³.The total annual effective dose from the decay of ²²²Rn was 1.322 mSv/a.Conclusion The concentrations of ²²²Rn in Guangzhou is at natural backgr ound level.
