Analysis of reproductive tract infections and their influence factors in rural women

  • Objective To investigate the prevalence of reproductive tract infections(RTIs)and their influencing factors in women.Methods Random cluster sampling was used to select study population and face to face interview was carried out in the project counties of Anhui and Xinjiang province.Results The number of women with self-reported at least one symptom of RTIs in past half year was 462 in 1098 subjects,account ing for 42.1% of the subjects.The percentage of one symptom,two symptoms,three and over three symptoms was 28.8%,7.7% and 5.6%,respectively.Influence factors analysis showed that woman's education level,marriage status,and knowledge of RTIs contributed much to the prevalence of RTIs.Living in Xinjiang region,illiteracy and semiliterate and the women with little kowledge of RTIs linked with high prevalence of RTIs.Conclusion RTIs is prevalent among women in the areas studied.The intervention should be done according to the influencing factors and the knowledge of RTIs among women needs to be improved.
