Survey on condition of labor induction in mid-pregnancy among married reproductive women in Nanchang

  • Objective To understand the status and the proportion of artificial abortion in married fertile women in Nanchang areas of Jiangxi province.Methods 5 468 married women at child-bearing age were studied using stratified random sampling,and a special questionnaire was designed to collect information including social situation,marriage and reproductive state.Results The significantly higher incidences of midtrimester induction of labor were found among subjects less than 20 years old and 20 years old at the time of first pregnant(P<0.001).More the number of pregnancy increased,the higher the incidence of midtrimester induction of labor was.The farmer had the significant highest incidence of induction of labor(P< 0.001).Lower the level of education was,the higher the incidence of midtrimester induction of labor was(P<0.001).Logistic regression analysis showed risk factors of less married years,family income,and protective factors of living in the citiesor towns and more married y ears.Conclusion Midtrimester of induction of labor is associated with education,econimic condition.The important measure for reducing the incidence of midtrimester induction of labor is late marriege and pregnancy.
