Evaluation on the intervention effect of intermitting treatment in smear-positive pulmonary TB patients

Objective To analyze impact of intervention focused on pulmonary TB patients intermitting treatment.Methods Quantitative method was used to analysze 472 patients' data from Rongchang(RC)and Nanchuan(NC)counties in Chongqing city.Results The intervention lasted one year,and the completion rate of the two counties improved in RC,the completion rate of new cases rose from 80.2% to 90.6%,retreated cases rose from 78.9% to 89.5%.In NC,the completion rate of new cases rose from 35% to 73.9%,retreated cases rose from 26.3% to 57.9%.Conclusion The intervention focused on pulmonary TB patients intermitting treatment worked on rising the completion rate,it would make further progress with the help of township/village doctor.
