Evaluation on TB control programme in Shandong province

Objective To analyze the effect of TB control progr amme in Shandong province.Methods The data from TB quarterly,annual reporting system and other related information during 1990~2005 was collected and analyzed.Results During 10 years,201048 smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis cases were detected.The trend in the no tification rate and cure rate showed up by years.The average cure rate of initial cases and re-treatment cases with smear-positive were 95.99% and 94.26% respectively.Conclusion The successful implementation of TB control progr amme improved the detection and management of TB patients.It lead the TB control into a new stage of standardized management.
