Correlation analysis of obesity and LPL gene polymorphism

Objective To explore the correlation of lipoprotein lipase gene polymorphism and obesity and analyze the influence of LPL gene on the serumlipid level.Methods By PCR restriction fragment length polymorphism to test the LPL gene Hind Ⅲ,PvuⅡpolymorphisms of 193 obese and 206 people with normal weight,and detect their serum lipids level.Results In obesity group the BMI,SBP,DBP,serum TG level were significantly higher than that of the control group,the HDL -C level was lower than that of the control(P<0.01).The genotype and allelic frequencies of LPL gene Hind Ⅲ polymorphic site were not statistical difference between obesity and control group.But in obese children who was H+H+genotype the TG level was higher than the group with other genotypes.The genotype frequency of PvuⅡpolymorphic site was statistical different between obesity and control group,and for children and the adolescents the allelic frequency was also different,but no correlation was found between PvuⅡgenotype and lipid level among obese people.Conclusion The PvuⅡ polymorphic site of LPL gene may be correlated with obesity in Ningxia children and adults,but the HindⅢ polymorphic site maybe not.
