Abstract
Objective To analyze the of effect of psychological punishments on self-efficacy among middle school students.Methods Self designed psychological punishment questionnaire and general self-efficacy scale(GSES)were used among 300 students radomly selected from 5 middle schools in Leshan city,Sichuan province.Results There were significant differences among different grades in scores of "ignorance" of psychological punishment questionnaire.There were signinficant difference among different family locations and sexes in scores of the scale of self-efficacy.Significant negative correlation between igrorance,neglect and the high sense of self2efficacy were found(r=-0.165&&,-0.207*,P<0.01,P<0.05),and significant positive correlation between deformed attention and the high sense of self2efficacy was found(r=0.1573*,P<0.05).Significant positive correlation between ignorance,neglect and the low sense of self-efficacy were found(r=0.174**,0.120*,P<0.01,P<0.05),and there was no correlation between deformed attention and the low sense of selfefficacy(r=0.155,P>0.05).Between penalized students and non-penalized students there was an extremely significant difference in the scores of self2efficacy(F=3.645,P<0.01).The standard regression coefficient of the self-efficacy and ignornce was -0.303(P<0.001).Conclusion Psychological punishment of has predictlve value on self-efficacy in middle school students.
