Survey on psychologic reaction of Zhuang survivors after earthquake

  • ObjectiveTo explore the cognition,behavior and emotion of Zhuang survivors after the earthquake.Methods"Questionnaire of psychologic reaction on emergent events" designed by the authors was applied among 220 survivors 7 days after the earthquake.ResultsFacing with the earthquake,94.50% of Zhuang survivors thought that the earthquake was terrible,but most of them were agreed with the measures adopted by the government.64.10% of survivors had passive ideas.The survivors concerned with the information on earthquake and their safety.91.40% of people adopted more self-protection behaviours.55.90% of people showed irrational behaviours.Survivors needed psychological aid.The positive rate of anxiety symptom was 51.80%,and that of somatization was 36180%.The positive rate of depression symptom was 23.60% and that of hostility was 15.00%.The scores of all emotional factor in the crowds with a higher level of initial exposure to the earthquake were higher than the crowds with a lower level of initial exposure(P<0.05).ConclusionAttention should be paid to the health needs of disaster survivors.
