Mental health situation and its influencing factors in nurses

  • ObjectiveTo understand the mental health state and related factors of the nurses and to provide scientific basis for mental health work in the nurses.Methods600 nurses were tested with symptom check list 90(SCL-90), M clean's Work Stress Questionnaire(MWSQ),and coping style's questionnaire by stratified random sampling.ResultsThe nurses had higher scores in anxiety,compulsion,physical condition and psychiatric than the normal score of the nation.The average score of mental health was positively correlated with the coping scores such as self-accusation,illusion,retreat,and rationalization,and negatively correlated with the coping scores of settlement.ConclusionThe nurses' psychological health level was worse than that of the normal,and physical training and more positive coping style may be helpful to their mental health.
