Analysis of Helicobacter pylori infection among people with upper gastrointestinal disease in Wuwei, Gansu province

ObjectiveTo study and analyze the status of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection among people suffered from upper gastrointestinal disease in Wuwei area of Gansu province.MethodsThe status of H.pylori infection of all samples were detected by Warthin-Starry and Gram stain.H.pylori infection rates of different pathological type,sex as well as the tumor tissue in different site and different pathological type were compared.ResultsThe rate of H.pylori infection in gastric carcinoma group,gastric precancerous lesions group and chronic super ficial gastritis group was 86.42% (70/81),94.12% (64/68)and 80.36% (45/56),respectively.The positive rate of H.pylori infection was significantly hig herin gastric precancerous lesions group than that of in chronic superficial gastritis group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in H.pylori infection rate between sex as well as the tumor tissue in different site and different pathological type.ConclusionThere is a high H.pylori infection rate among people suffered from upper gastro intestinal disease in Wuwei area.H.pylori infection does not related with sex.The carcinogenic effect of H.pylori has no relation with the infection site and the patho-logical type of gastric carcinoma.
