Effects of anxiety intervention among male STD clients:a clinic based research

ObjectiveTo explore the impact of the clinical and psychological/behavioral treatment model of integrated service for reducing anxiety among male sexually transmitted disease(STD)clients.MethodsA series of integrated services intervention to 98 male STD patients for three months was carried outin a Yunnan provincial hostal and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)was used to study the anxiety before and after the intervention.ResultsThe mean of anx iety scale in the patients before and after the intervention were 48.176±9.701 and 44.975±9.603(P<0.01).The individual scores of SAS showed mood of anxiety,fear,panic,unfortunate premonition were statistically different before and after the intervention(P<0.05)and showed the improvement of anxiety.ConclusionThe male STD patients have different degrees of anxiety compared with the national norm before and after the intervention.
