Analysis on risk factors of injuries among teen-agers in Nanchang city

Objective To learn the risk factors of injuries among teen-agers in Nanchang city and provide scientific basis for related institutions.Methods Adopt probability sampling method to choose the samples.Data was analyzed by uncon-ditional univariate and multivariate Logistic regression with SPSS 13.0 in the investig ation of 9 161 teen-agers.Results Results from univariate analysis showed that injuries were associated with gender,age,household location,raising pet at home,appliance for heating water,opening the door when teen-agers being athome.Results from multivariate analysis showed that gender(OR=1.316),age(OR₁=0.147,OR₂=1.784,OR₃=1.648,OR₄=1.311),raising pet athome (OR=1.590)were the main factors.Conclusion The relevant risk factors of teen-agers in Nanchang city were gender,age (5~17 years old),raising pet athome.The relevant protective factor was living in city,age(1~4 years old).It is important to adopt various relevant measures to prevent the occurrence of teen-agers injury.
