Investigation on urban medical assistance in tentative cities

Objective To study the knowledge,utilization and evaluation of the Medicaid among assisted objects in tentative cities in order to provide rationalization proposal on impr oving the accessibility of Medicaid and perfecting Medicaid policy.Methods 1 116 households were sampled to carry on the questionnaire survey amo ng poor citizens in 2007.Results The total knowing rate of Medicaid was only 44.98% among all participants and 30.52% among laid-off workers,47.18% among other poor citizens(P<0.01).The knowing rate among the subjects in the eastern area was 57.02%,37.35% in the middle area and 19.10% in the western area(P<0.01).52.44% of poor citizens surveyed thought the Medicaid program was complex,87.00% of poor citizens surveyed considered the Medicaid a fair policy and 81.29% thought the Medicaid cost was low for inpatients.72.85% of poor citizens surveyed thought the perfect support pattern should include serious diseases and indispositions.Conclusion The knowing rate of the Mediaid is very low and regional disparity is obvious.The capital investment is deficient in tentative cities of Medicaid.
