Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the quality of life and family function in elderly hypertensive patients.Methods A total of 4.5 elderly hypertensive patients was investigated using WHOQOL-BREF and Family Assessment Device(FAD).Results The average scores of four domains were 52.46(physical),45.60(psychological),50.04(social relationships)and 48.97(environment)for the quality of life,and 2.17(problem sloving),2.28(communication),2.29(roles),2.38(affective responsiveness),2.39(affective involvement),2.36(behavior control)and 2.28(general functioning) for FAD,respectively.Canonical correlation analysis revealed that roles and affective responsiveness,physical and psychological were the main factor for FAD and quality of life,respectively.There was a significant negative correlation between FAD and physical,psychological level of quality of life.Conclusion The less FAD is correlative with the lower quality of life among elderly hypertensive patients.
