Influences of different resettlements on mental health of immigrants

  • Objective To analyze the influences of "resettlement nearby the reservoir" and "resettlement faraway the reservoir" on mental health of the immigrants.Methods Residents general questionnaire,symptom checklist(SCL-90)and social support rating scale(SSRS)were used to analyze the influences of different resettlements on mental health of the immigrants selected by cluster stratified random sampling.Results The social support,neighborhood relationship and quality of life among immigrants resettled faraway the reservoir were worse than that of the immigrants resettled nearby the reservoir (P<0.05).The scores of general,body force,dumps,anxiety hostility and the psychotic aspects of the immigrants resettled faraway the reservoir were higher than that of local residents(P<0.01).The score of the psychotic aspect of the immigrants was also higher than that of the immigrants resettled nearby the reservoir(P=0.018 5).Conclusion Migrating has great impact on the mental health of immigrants reseetled faraway the reservoir than on that of immigrants resettled nearby the reservoir.
