Inhibitory effect of green tea polyphenols on plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 expression

  • Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of green tea polyphenols(GTPs)on the regulation of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI1)expression inbovine artery endothelial cells(BAECs).Methods PAI-1 expression was measured by Western blot and ELISA.Results GT Psdecreased BAECs PAI-1 expression and secretion in a time and concentration-dependent manner.After incubation for 8 h,GTPs decreased PAI1 expression significantly(P<0.05).40 μg/ml GTPs reduced PAI-1 expression obviously(P<0.05).Conclusion GTPs can repress PAI-1 expression and secretion from endothelial cells,which may contribute to cardiovascular protection.
