Mortality, YPLL and WYPLL of cancer in urban Harbin, 1995-2004

Objective To explore the disease burden of cancer in residents of urban Harbin from 1995 to 2004 and to provide sicentific basics for cancer prevention and control.Methods The data of cancerm ortaliy in urban Harbin from 1995 to 2004 were analyzed by standardized mortaliy rate,standardized YPLL rate,standardized WYPLL rate.Results The annual standardized mortality rate was 99.06/10⁵(male 116.62/105 ,female 81.06/105).Standardized mortality rate of the male decreased steadily and that of the female increased steadily.In the 10 years,the life lost caused by lung cancer did not vary much.Standardized YPLL rate and standardized WYPLL rate of the male were higher than that of the female.The fivemain cancer in the famale were breast cancer,lung cancer,intestinal cancer,gastric cancer and liver cancer.Conclusion Lung cancer is the major cancer inducing great disease burden in residents of urban Harbin.
