Personality characteristics analysis in children with different subtypes of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Objective To understand the personality characteristics in children with different subtypes of atention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)and its influencing factors.Methods One hundred and ninety children aged 7-12 years with ADHD were divided into 3 subtypes according to DSMIV.The personality characteristics in different subtypes ADHD children was analyzed with EPQ and absence of personality concealing.Results The sexratio(boys/girls)was 1:0 397(P<0.01).There was a difference in Nscores for 3 subty pes ADHD children(P<0.05).The proportion of instability and absence of personality concealing in CT subtype children was 46% and 42%,respectively,with significant differences(P<0.01,P<0.05)compared with that of in IP subtype(33%,24%).Conclusion CT subtype children have emotion instability and absence of personality concealing.More specific psychological treatment should be applied to children patient with different persondity characteristics.
