Evaluation on responsiveness of medical institutions at town, country and village levels among rural residents in Guizhou province

  • Objective To explore the rural residents.evaluation on responsiveness of medical institutions at town,country and village levels in rural areas Guizhou province.Methods One thousand and six households in countries and villages and 391 patients in town-level medical institutions at 4 towns were selected with mult-istage random sampling for the investigation.Results The rural residents considered that the service attitude,communication,and elementary environment of the medical institutions were good,but the promptservice was not good enough and the institutions were deficit in meeting the requirement of appointing doctor and keeping privacy.There were significant differences between town and country level in the evaluations of the institutions in the respects of appointing doctor,keeping privacy and checking medical cost.Conclusion The importance of responsiveness of the health system should be recognized and the responsiveness of the medical in stitutions at country and village levels should be enhanced.
