Study on correlation between CD209 polymorphisms and susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis

  • ObjectiveTo explore the possible relation ship bewteen the-336 G/A single nucleotide polymorphisms in CD 209 of Chinese Han population and pulmonary tuberculosis,and the interaction with environmental factors of pulmonary tuberculosis.MethodsA 1:1 matched-case control study was conducted.The-336 CD209 G/A polymorphisms were detected in 167 pairs of subjects by the method of polymerase chain reaction with sequence specific primer(SSP-PCR)technique.Information on related environmental factors of tubercu losis was collected with a self-designed questionmaire.Univariate and multivariate conditional logistic analysis were conducted.ResultsThe geno type frequencies of AA,GA and GGi case group and control group were 21.0%,42.5%,36.5% and 35.3%,45.5%,19.1%,respectively.The geno type frequency of GG(OR=1.768,95% CI=1.167-2.679,P=0.007)was significantly overrepresented in case group in univariate conditional logistic analysis.The significant association remained after adjusting for environmental factors between geno type GG(OR=1.918,95% CI=1.234-2.979,P=0.004)and the suscepibility to pulmonary tuberculosis.There were interactions of multip licative model between GGang GA and Bacille Calmette Guerin(BCG)(P=0.032)or smoking(P=0.000).ConclusionThe-336 CD 209 GG geno type might be associated with the susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis in Chinese Han population,and there might be in teractions between environmental factors and the geno type.
