Relationship between life satisfaction and anxiety disorders among adolescents

ObjectiveTo investigate the distribution of anxiety disorders and explore the associations of anxiety disorders with life satisfaction among adolescents.MethodsMultinomial logistic regression was used to evaluate life satisfaction and its influence on anxiety disorders among adolescents.ResultsORs (odds ratio) form ild and severe anxiety disorders of the adolescents decreased with the increasing of their life satisfaction (5 factors and the total life satisfaction),and the dose-effect tendency was significant.Among the students with lower life satisfaction (0-P₂₅),OR for severe anxiety disorders was higher than that of minor anxiety disorders.The relevant factors with mild anxiety disorders were school satisfaction (OR=1.667),self satisfaction (OR=1.478) and friends satisfaction (OR=1.466).ConclusionThe enhancement of life satisfaction is helpful to decrease the risk of anxiety disorders in adolescents.
