Expression of p21 and p15 in gastric cancer patients

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression levels of p21 and p15 among gastric caner patients.MethodsThe expression levels of p21 and p15 among stomach caner patients were detected with immunohisto chemical method and the data were analyzed with chi-square test and multiple Logistic regression.ResultsAmong 23 patients(<58 years)the numbers of p21 positive and negative patients were 7,16 respectively and the numbers of p15 positive and negative patients were 4,19 respectively.Among 24 patients(≥58 years)the numbers of p21 positive and negative patients were 11,13 respectively,the numbers of p15 positive and negative patients were 9,15 respectively.The numbers of p21 positive and negative patients were 14,19 and p15 positive and negative patients were 9,24 respectively among 33 male patients.The numbers of p21 and p15 positive and negative patients were both 4,10 among 14 female patients.Tissue differentiation level and metastasis were included in the Logistic regression model for p21 expression and only tissue differentiation level was included in the Logistic regression model for p15 expression(P<0.05).ConclusionBoth p21 and p15 are anti-oncogenes.
