Study on subjective quality of life in urban school-age children with low birth weight

  • ObjectiveTo explore the subjective quality of life in urban school age children with low birth weight.MethodsAcluster sample of 101 cases with low birth weight from a birth cohort was investigated.Meanwhile,a 1:1 gender and age matched control group with normal birth weight was followed.Subjective quality of life was estimated by Inventory of Subjective Life Quality.ResultsThe average score of subjective life quality of the low birth weight group was 161.670±16.567.No significant difference was found in the scores of all dimensions,cognitive components,emotional components and the total scale of subjective life quality between the low birth weight group and the control group.The total satisfaction of subjective life quality of the school aged children were centralized in the average level, and there was no significant difference between the two groups.ConclusionThe subjective life quality of the urban school age children with low birth weight is equivalent to that of the children with norm al birth weight.
