Floating people’s desire and influencing factors for family planning services

ObjectiveTo find out the floating people's desires to get family planning services and discuss the influencing factors.MethodsA total of 3 594 floating people were selected in the questionnaire investigation with random sampling.Results67.8% of the participantswished that doctors from the center of family planning could provide relative services to them,48.4% wanted to get information on validity and possible negative effects of contraceptive devices and 40.4% expected to receive services of health physical examination.The influencing factors for the desire to get professional advice of family planning included profession(χ²=17.911,P=0.001),income(χ²=35.200,P=0.000),education level(χ²=20.005,P=0.010).Influecing factors for getting contraception knowledge were profession(χ²=75 866,P=0.000),in come(χ²=147.339,P=0.000),education level(χ²=193.907,P=0.000),whether from country side or not(χ²=93 066,P=0.000).Influencing factors for getting family planning service were profession(χ²=60.951,P=0.000),in come(χ²=149.566,P=0.000),education level(χ²=163.841,P=0.000).Multiple factors analysis showed that the major factors for getting physical examination service were education level(P=0.017),income(P=0.002)and whether from country side(P=0.001).ConclusionFloating people wished to get professional service,more comprehensive contraception know ledge and physical examination.Main influencing factors for desire of family planning service are income,education level and profession.
