A multiplex PCR assay application in identification of Streptococcus suis type 2

ObjectiveTo develop a rapid identification method for Streptococcus suis type 2 with multiplex PCR assay.MethodsAccording to specific sequence of Streptococcus suis type 2, two pairs of multiplex PCR priners were designed for Streptococcus suis amplification and identification.Then the amplification conditions were optinized.ResultsThe ain gene fragment for 17 isolates and 1 reference of Streptococcus suis type 2 were amplified with multiplex PCR assay, but it could not be amplified for 6 other reference bacteria.ConclusionThe multiplex PCR assay could be used to identify and provide a new methodology for Streptococcus suis type 2 identification.
