Abstract
Objective To study the influence of baicalin(Bai)on superoxide dismutase(SOD)and malondia ldehyde (MDA)on Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia(PCP)model rats.Methods Sprague Dawley(SD)rats were subcutaneo usly injected with dexame thasone sodium phosphate.The treatment group was treated by baicalin before and after the PCP model established.The pathological change in lung tissue and the level of SOD and MDA in sera and lung homogenate were observed.Results Compared with model group,Bailightened the inflammation of lungtissue,increased the activity of SOD and decreased the content of MDA in the sera and lung homogenate with significant difference.Conclusion Bai has antioxidation effect in the treamtent of PCP in rats and may decrease the content of MDA and increase the activity of SOD and lighten the inflammation reaction in PCP rats.
