Cognition of endemic fluorosis and drinking water among farmers in high fluorine countryside

Objective To understand the fauners' dem and and degree of satisfaction on drinking water,the cognition of endem is fluorosis in high fluorine areas for scientific planning of ruralw ater supply project and health education.Methods Questionnaire survey was conducted in 187 peasants.Results All participants used tap water,but the treatment rate of the waterwas 0.61.5% of the participants were not satisfied with the water quality.Only 32.1% of the participants knewendem is fluorosis,while 70.8% were not clear about symptoms of endem is fluorosis 81.9% of the participants did not know methods to reduce the fluoride and 87.7% wanted to know more know ledge of drinking water.Conclusion The peasants did not have sufficient cognition of endem is fluorosis and hygienic quality of drinking water.
