Loctobacillus casei inhibits atherosclerotic plaque formation in apoE-deficient mice

Objective To explore the effect of Lctobacillus casei on atheroscleroticplaque founation in apoE-deficient mice and its mechanismin anti-atherogenelsis.Methods After 16 weeks intervention with Lctobacillus casei,atherosclerotic plaque area in aortic sinus was assessed with in age analysis.Results The plaque area in aortic sinus in mice fed with Lctobacillus casei diet was less than that of positive group.Conclusion The result suggests that Lctobacillus casei has the capacity of inhibiting atherosclerotic plaque founation and progression in apoE-deficient mice.
