Reproductive health knowledge and attitude among young female floating population

  • Objective To obtain infounation on knowledge,attitude and practice related to contraception/STD/HIV among young female floating people.Methods From July to August 2008,a cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate 3521 young floating women in Qingdao city .Results Among the participants,only 40.4% got a reproductive health knowledge score of 60 or above,59.5% got the score less than 60.The results of logistic regression indicated that risk factors of low score of health knowledge included low education level(OR=2.01),without getting related knowledge in the past 6 months(OR=1.45).The pro-factors for higher score of health knowledge included having first sexual activety at elder age,cohabitation with husband,having birth history(OR=0.79).29.9% of the participants adm fitted that they refused to contact with sexually transm fitted diseasess(STD)colleagues 15.9% of them thought the people who infected STD should be fired out The proportion of people who refused to contact with HIV infection colleagues was 37%.22.4% of participants thought that people with HIV infection should be fired out.Conclusion The reproductive health knowledge of young female floating people was deficient Discrin inationto STD and HIV infection was very serious among young female floatine people.
