Knowledge, attitude and behaviors on brucellosis among occupational groups in western Liaoning province

Objective To assess the status of knowledge,attitude and behaviors on brucellosis among occupational groups in western of Liaoning province for the prevention of the disease.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among dome stican mial raisers,dealers,butchers,and veterinarians.Results A total of 1 740 persons were surveyed(1202 males and 538 females).The knowledge of brucellosis increased with the eductation level of the partic ipants(P<0.001).There were significant diffencences in the knowledge of preventive measures of brucellosis among the participants with different occupations(P<0.001).Conclusion The brucellosis knowledge level is low among domestic an mial raisers and milkers.Concept and behavior knowing rate are low,especially among raisers.The education on brucellosis should be promoted among stock farmer and other occupational groups.
